The University receives the Regional Director of Al-Bashar Charity Organization.
Prof. Kamal Mohamed Obeid, the Vice Chancellor of the University, received a delegation from Al-Basr International Charity Organization headed by Mr. Al-Asi Ahmed, Regional Director of the Foundation on Sunday 22/9/2019 in his office in the presence of Dr. Omar Al-Adel Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Tariq Al-Hadiya, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Mohammed Jabir Al-Dar, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing as well as Mr. Samer Ajab, Head of the Department of Technical Laboratories of the University.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Vice Chancellor welcomed the delegation, affirming the university's cooperation with Al-Bashar Charitable Foundation in the framework of various training programs.
The Vice Chancellor pointed out that the University has started to establish the Faculty of Optics, which we hope to be one of the joint projects between the two institutions, he expressed the impact of the signing of a joint agreement between the two sides to consolidate and implement joint programs and projects.
On the other hand, Dr. Omar Al-Adel Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, said that the fields of cooperation are multiple between the two sides, pointing out that the most prominent areas in which the Faculty of Optics can be established are the establishment of an ophthalmology department from the university clinic, the Health Research Center and the African Council for Health Specialties as well as various training fields.
Mr. Ahmed Al-Asi, the Regional Director of Al-Bashar International Charity Foundation thanked the University for its hospitality and generous recommendation, provide an overview of the Foundation and its wide relations with a number of Sudanese universities and their readiness to establish the Faculty of Ophthalmology and as refereed in scientific journal.
The Foundation works in (48) countries and affirms the readiness of the Foundation to cooperate unlimited with all university programs.
Lastly, the two sides agreed on many issues, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two sides in the next few days.
