Among the historic visits: the university receives former President of Tanzania Ali Mwinyi

 

On Tuesday 26 September 2017, the International University of Africa received the former President of Tanzania, His Excellency President Ali Hassan Mwinyi which his visit came to the University on the sidelines of his participation in the First African Intellectual Forum; it was being organized by the National Security and Intelligence Service. The former President of Tanzania was received by Prof. Kamal Muhammad Ubaid, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Musa Taha Tay-Allah, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the University for Cultural and Scientific Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Usman Albaili, Head of External Relations Office and a number of university staff members at the African Conference Hall. The meeting dealt with a number of important African issues. In his speech, the former President of Tanzania addressed the issues referring to the great role played by Sudan and the International University of Africa on the African continent.

For his side, Prof. Kamal Muhammad Ubaid, Vice-Chancellor of the University welcomed the visit of the former Tanzanian president; pointing out that it is important visit to the African symbols of the University. Subsequently, the former Tanzanian President was accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor of the University to tour the university faculties. The tour ended with a visit to Al-Alamiya channel, which recorded a long word for the president.

It is noteworthy that the university had honored President Mwinyi and granted him an honorary doctorate during the celebration of the golden Jubilee in 2016.
